I LOVE Valentines Day! I realize that it is a day built by commercialism (the greeting card industry), but if you ignore that, you can make it a fun day with your friends, family, and loved ones! Why not give them something nice, but also inexpensive? A letterpress greeting card is a good choice. Each card is a work of art created by hand on a vintage letterpress machine (used before we had digital printing!). The tandem bicycle is a popular image being used in invitations. It is especially perfect for bike lovers. I recently designed a new tandem bicycle invitation (2nd image). Inspiration for a wedding theme, wedding invitations, or any stationary product can come from anything. Vintage items of all sorts have great history, but also have beautiful designs. Look at old postage stamps for inspiration….they have so many beautiful colors, compositions, and central imagery! Take a look at these and think about how they could be applied to your wedding invitations or wedding theme.
